At Babilou Family, we prepare our children for the future by equipping them with the skills necessary for learning. 

However, there is a lot more to the learning process than just the lessons and activities at our centres. We also include Sustainable Education® and Care in the children’s learning experiences, where we instill important life values that will empower them to thrive and give back to society.

Giving Back Through Tomorrow Starts Now

We first launched Tomorrow Starts Now, our yearly Sustainable Education® event, in 2022. This is where we focus on key giving activities involving all our staff, children and their families, based on the following pillars:

• Education
• Children's health
• Environmental protection
• Parental support and inclusion

In 2022, Tomorrow Starts Now was launched through Plan(t) the Future, focusing on environmental protection. 

To continue our efforts in promoting a culture of sustainability, this year we #EmbraceInclusiveEducation and worked towards inculcating inclusion as a way of life. This involved our educators designing lessons and activities to teach our children empathy and to show care for those around them, despite their differences and circumstances.

Taking Small Steps to Embrace Inclusive Education 

Our Tomorrow Starts Now 2023 is organised in support of the Children’s Cancer Foundation, a social service agency that provides children with cancer and their families the much-needed support in their battle against life-threatening illnesses.

This was held on 28 April 2023 (Friday), which was a planned centre closure day. Families across all our 60 centres were spread across 4 locations – Jurong Lake Gardens, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, Fernvale Community Club and East Coast Park – where they came together to participate in activities.

At Jurong Lake Garden, parents and children went on an Amazing Race themed family walk with activity pit stops along the way. 

Meanwhile, at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, families enjoyed a relaxing day out as they walked for a good cause, with roving activities like balloon sculptures for the children and tote bag-making using pre-loved t-shirts.

East Coast Park was a hit with its beautiful beach and family-friendly activities like sandcastle building and solving riddles and numeracy challenges.

And finally, at Fernvale Community Club, families bonded over a family carnival filled with games and activities such as face painting, ring tossing, and photo booths.

Support for Children and Families in Need

Through our collective, we raised $54,850 for our Tomorrow Starts Now 2023 event - with $8,800 contributed by the Babilou Family Foundation, our global corporate giving arm that strives to make a difference through initiatives that support parents and encourage social inclusion, environmental awareness nature conservation and responsible consumption.

100% of the proceeds were donated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation to support their programmes that aid families with children battling childhood cancer.

We hope that the small steps we have taken will send help to more families on their children’s road to recovery.
